Photography books are a great way of presenting work but they also offer a challenge to the photographer. A lot of thought has to go into creating the layout, text and order of the photographs. In early 2009, I decided to take part in the Solo Photo Book Month project.
The aim of the project is to shoot, edit and create a photo book in the space of 31 days. It's a very challenging project but the immense satisfaction that a finished book gives is unbeatable.
This page is dedicated to the photo books that I'll be releasing. The first one, my Solo Photo Book Month entry for 2009, will be followed by many more over the coming year including my 2010 SoFoBoMo entry and a winter landscape book.
You don't need to spend much to create a book. Most of my book design work is done using either Adobe Acrobat or OpenOffice 3.1, an open source office suite for PC that can be found HERE.
Two book versions are currently available to download for free. The first link offers the book in a reasonable 14.9mb download size, and the second is the larger higher resolution edition which features better image quality with lower levels of image compression. The higher resolution PDF file was also outputted at 300dpi instead of 200dpi. Another book of winter landscapes will be released early this year.
The PDF files can be opened using Adobe Reader 9.3 that can be found HERE
