The last few weeks have seen massive changes in the way that we live and go about our lives. Day to day things that we take for granted suddenly gain importance that we tend to take for granted. A walk in the park with the dog now takes on a new importance that it previously lacked. Hopefully, we all might be able to appreciate the smaller things more when the COVID-19 situation is finally resolved.

Funny how small things are regarded as small until they start missing from our lives.

The photograph copying, retouching and repair service is still open for business due to its built-in social distancing. Orders via digital delivery or postal delivery are still being accepted. Many of the other photography services are, however, on hold until the situation improves. Enquiries and job queries are, as usual, always welcome and can be sent to [email protected]

Daily Instagram Updates

The Instagram account has seen quite a bit of activity over the last couple of weeks with a new photograph being posted every day or so. Currently, the theme is Islay with new and previously unseen images from September 2019 getting a remix. Over the coming weeks, the theme will also include photography from some old ‘classic’ projects that I’ll talk about and provide some background.

The final part of the Instagram updates is the daily ‘stories’ update that features an image from the walk I take with Luna each day along a path next to the River Derwent. The river acts as the border between County Durham and Northumberland. It’s a bit of a photo challenge and fun… plus Luna sometimes provides some creative input :)

New Beginnings

Its been quiet, here in the website news section, over the last few months. Last year turned out to be a very sad and eventful one with the death of my Mother to cancer. ย With her death comes the need to move on and makeย a new start. It’s timeย to make some changes.

In the next few weeks, i will be leaving north Yorkshire and movingย to County Durham, to a location a stone’s throwย from the Northumberland border.ย After 16 years of providing photography, websites and media in the North Yorkshire area, i will be winding downย the commercialย photography side of the business. The keen eyed amongst you may have noticed that several of the portfolio galleries have already been removed from the site covering the photography practice i no longer cover as a photographer.

Check the services page for updated details about what i now cover as a photographer.

Otherwise it is very much business as usual. The image repair, retouching and copying service will continue along with the other services mentioned on the website.ย The websites, blogs and social media streams will also continueย to operate as before.

More news will be posted soon.

You may have noticed that the website has been rather quiet over the last few months; indeed the last news item posted was in May!

Sadly, back in July, it was confirmed that my mother had terminal cancer. The effect of this has been very disruptive to both the emotions and everyday life – the only thing you do is just take each day as it comes. Looking long term is a luxury that I, my father and sister, now no longer have. Work has also had to take it’s place in the line regarding priority though so far the disruption has been minimal.

There will be many changes coming over the next year or two, including changes to Richard Flint Photography as a business. I will not be leaving photography but the business model and location will be radically changing. More details about that nearer the time.
