Work is currently underway on the first of a series of photography books that will bring together images from a number of trips to Scotland over the last few years. The first book will start with the beautiful landscapes and documentary images shot around the Highlands of Scotland and Skye.
The Photography
This landscape and documentary photography project follows a number of routes through Scotland from the borders through to the highlands and the Hebrides.
Much like the Norfolk project, this is a photography project with no end date. I imagine that it will be a ‘work in progress’ until the time I can no longer physically continue to take images.
The scope of photography is huge. So far the images cover mostly a narrow area of the Highlands and Skye, but the aim is to add more areas in the future. Fortunately, the Scottish Borders are around an hour’s drive from where I live, so the opportunity to regularly continue the photography in southern Scotland is there.
The northern areas also include plenty of potential too with the Outer Hebrides being one area of interest for future project development. It’s going to be a great project to contribute to over the coming years.
Planned Book
The book will feature over 50+ pages, gathering around 40 images together and has been designed in a large landscape 13×11 (33x28cm) large landscape format. It will be the first book in a series that will explore around Scotland using documentary and landscape photography.
Decisions about the image content still need to be made but the first Scotland book will most likely contain colour images shot from 2012 through to 2015.
The book will be available via the Blurb website, with an additional iPad edition/eBook available from Blurb and the iTunes iBookstore.
The provisional release date for the book is set for mid 2021.
