The photograph copying service provides a safe and easy option for copying much-loved photographs, artwork, letters or documents. The original image is scanned, or copy photographed with a camera if the image is above the regular scanning size, to produce a high-quality digital copy that can then be printed. Large print sizes can also be copied including panoramic up to 36×8 inches.

The Copying Process

Digital photography provides the ideal solution for creating new images from an original photograph especially if the original negative or digital file has been damaged, lost or destroyed. Large photographs and even panoramic images can be copied to produce new prints.

New prints can be made to the same size as the original (or larger if required) using Fuji Crystal Archive DPII Professional papers with a choice of lustre, pearl or glossy finishes. The Fuji paper offers the widest colour gamut, maximum density for deep blacks and excellent colour saturation. There is also the alternative option of archival digital inkjet prints using fine art papers by Permajet and Hahnemuhle with 11 professional high-quality finishes.

After the original image or document has been photographed or scanned, it plays no further part in the copying process. No work is carried out on the original image itself and it is not sent away to a photographic lab. Discounts are applied to large numbers of images that are to be copied.

Old Documents

Digital copying can also be used to copy documents i.e. old maps, plans etc to create an image that can be displayed. High-quality photographs of drawings and other artwork can be used for decorative, promotional, insurance or archival purposes.

Technical Details

All photograph copying prices include some minor technical retouching of images: i.e removing minor dust and hair marks, etc

Images larger than 12×10 can be difficult to scan due to the physical size of the print and the limited availability of large-size scanners. A more cost-effective solution can be to photograph the original image with a camera. This provides a good-quality copy of the original print image without the need for expensive scanning.

Orders by Post

If you would like to send photographic prints, negatives or slides via the post, these can be sent using a recorded or tracked special delivery service. The photograph copying usually takes around 7 days, though it can take longer depending on the level of work required.

The original and new copy is returned using Royal Mail’s recorded delivery service. Other postage options including the 24hr tracked special delivery service are also available at extra cost ( £5 extra). A tracking number can be supplied so that the items can be followed through to delivery. Emails are sent on arrival on the original photos via post and also when they are dispatched back so the client always remains informed.

All orders from outside the UK are sent via international Tracked postage, which includes email updates on progress, using the Royal Mail. Contact me for details about the copying service and tracked delivery.
