Photograph Repair and Restoration for Damaged Images
Photograph Repair and Restoration for Damaged Images - repaired image

The photograph repair and restoration service provides options for repairing damaged images. Repair covers images with light or medium-damaged areas where the core details of the photograph remain intact. Restoration is about bringing a seriously damaged image back to its original state. Seriously faded, torn or damaged photographs can be repaired using this service to create a new version of the original.

The photograph repair service uses digital technology to repair and recreate the original image. Most often the original photograph is at the end of its working life damaged by light or just the general wear and tear of age. The original image is scanned to create a digital file that is repaired and printed.

The original damaged image is then stored away ready to be returned. A preview of the new digital repaired image is sent via email before printing for approval. The original image and the new print are then returned via tracked 24 Royal Mail postage. The whole process usually takes between seven to ten days depending on the severity of the damage.

Photo Repair Service including Wide Panoramic Prints

All sizes of photograph can be repair with the photograph repair services covering a wide range of damaged images sizes from small through to wide panoramic prints. Difficult or unusual prints sizes are welcome with Panoramic prints being repaired up to 44+ inches width.

Negatives, Transparencies and Digital Images

Damaged digital files, negatives and slides can be repaired or restored using the photo repair service to produce a new photograph, negative or slide. Details can still be recovered even from seriously damaged images including badly faded photographs.

Images larger than 12×10 can be difficult to scan due to the physical size of the print and the limited availability of large-size scanners. A more cost-effective solution can be to photograph the original image with a camera. This provides a good-quality copy of the original print image without the need for expensive scanning. Repair work can then commence on the digital copy.

All prints are made using professional quality Fuji Pro paper with a choice of lustre, pearl or glossy New prints can be made to the same size as the original (or larger if required) using Fuji Crystal Archive DPII Professional papers with a choice of lustre, pearl or glossy finishes. The Fuji paper offers the widest colour gamut, maximum density for deep blacks and excellent colour saturation.
