Back to Northumberland

More prints have become available on my RedBubble store including a number from my recent Northumberland visit back in mid-April. Northumberland has always been one of my favourite English counties with its huge beaches and diverse landscape so it was nice to return to a few locations I hadn’t visited since 1992. A number of times memories would come flooding back of my last visit as a young 20-year-old photography student. What I lacked in skill using the camera back then tended to be well compensated for with a large dose of creative enthusiasm.

Timeless Moment

The photography seemed to come together nicely over the week, aided by some bright Spring skies and a little rough weather to add some mood. The image above of Dunstanburgh Castle came about during a grey and windy visit to Caster, the village that lies close to the impressive ruins of the ancient castle. The rough wave coming ashore added some extra mood and also a timeless factor to the photograph. I even waited for a number of walkers to get out of frame before shooting the photo. I didn’t want the 21st century to make an appearance.

Northumberland Prints

The RedBubble store went over the 450 designs mark recently thanks to the Northumberland trip. I’ve wanted to expand the Northumberland collection for some time and the recent images of Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh castles have added nicely to the selection of images available. The plan for 2023 is to reach 500 designs which, hopefully, can be achieved after a visit to the Isle of Arran and Mull of Kintyre later this year.

The Richard Flint Photography Redbubble store has reached 400 images – from Norfolk, EdinburghGlencoeIslay, North Wales and many more – a great range of photographs now available to buy as wall art, clothing, phone cases etc via the online shop. It has been a slow but steady climb over the past 18 months with recent image additions to the store including archive photographs dating back to the mid-1990s. More images will be added over the next few months.

Redbubble Store hits 300 images

By |2020-10-11T12:11:03+01:00October 12th, 2020|Categories: News|Tags: , , , , , , |

In late September the Richard Flint Photography Redbubble page passed a small, but significant milestone with over 300 images – from Norfolk, Edinburgh, Glencoe, Islay, North Wales and many more – now available to buy as wall art, clothing, phone cases etc via the online shop.

This year has been a tough one, for obvious reasons. The COVID pandemic has strayed into all aspects of our lives in ways that we’d have thought unthinkable until recently. With restrictions in place, the opportunities to gather new images for Redbubble etc have been rather thin on the ground so to pass the 300 mark shows a least a little progress. It’s definitely been a year for safely getting whatever small victories you can.

A week-long trip up to the Highlands of Scotland in September managed to gather some images to further boost the Redbubble submissions for this year. A new Ben Nevis collection of images has been started on the store containing images from a climb to the summit made on September 17th 2020. Definitely my high point :) in an otherwise unpleasant year. More images will be added to the collection over the coming weeks.

Glencoe, Highlands of Scotland, 2015

It’s been around a year since the new website design was launched and over the last 12 months a number of changes and improvements have been made to the site.

This year the focus has been on speeding up the website, improving the menu system and adding a new slideshow system to the gallery. The biggest, and most exciting change however will arrive next month when the website will feature a shop where prints can be purchased direct from my good self.

Powered by the Woocommerce system and using PayPal for payment, the store will initially contain a limited series of 20×16 inch framed prints, starting with my Scotland landscapes (including the shot of Glencoe seen above), that will be numbered and signed. I’m keeping things simple to start with but I will  add other items at a later date along with new print finishes etc.

The second big change concerns the news section itself. I’ve decided to add more posts to the site and broaden the current remit of the news section to include posts with new photography, video and audio. The news area of the website is being underused at the moment and the change will make the news section more dynamic and varied.

Both the shop and the news changes will come into effect in June.
